Dental Fluoride Treatments

March 6, 2018 by South Lake Pediatrics 1 Comment

Did you know that tooth decay (cavities) is the most chronic disease of childhood? Early childhood caries can be painful but there are ways to prevent them.
• South Lake Pediatrics offers Dental Fluoride treatments and are recommended for all children beginning at the first tooth eruption.
• Depending on the child’s oral health, fluoride treatments may be recommended every 3, 6 or 12 months.
• Fluoride treatments are easy to apply and at a minimal cost.
Remember:
• Start to see a dentist for regular dental checkups at age 1 or about 6 months after the first tooth erupts.
• Brush your child’s teeth with a smear of fluoride toothpaste daily, beginning at 6 months of age or when the first tooth erupts.
• Avoid putting your child to bed with a bottle or sippy cup of milk, formula or juice.
